Building resources for asynchronous directed study In-Person
Why this session?
Building effective resources for asynchronous study requires a working knowledge of SGUL digital technologies. This will enable you to record high quality pre and post sessional content, display that content effectively to students, and ensure accessibility of that content.
What the session covers
- How to build an effective asynchronous Canvas session page
- How to record and edit a pre-recorded lecture activity on Panopto
- Creating requirements and pre-requisites in Canvas units
- Using Canvas analytics, Panopto analytics, and Units progress feature
Intended Learnign Outcomes
By the end of the session, learners should be able to:

edit a standard Canvas session template and populate it with content for asynchronous delivery

record, edit and share a Panopto recording

use Canvas accessibility tools
Pre-requisite workshop
Participants are encouraged to attend the EduFocus session titled ‘Designing effective resources for asynchronous directed study’, which delves into principles and good practices for designing resources for asynchronous directed study. Please refer to the EduFocus Calendar to book a place.
